Moving to Barcelona
« on: February 05, 2010, 06:15:17 PM »
Hi everyone,

I am thinking of moving to Barcelona this summer.
I would appreciate any tips and advice regarding employment, accommodation and the good and not so good areas to live in.

My Spanish is limited but hopefully it will improve rapidly there.
I'm not looking for a specific career but I do have banking experience, but I'm willing turn my hand to most things.
What is the current job climate like at the moment in Barcelona ?

What about seasonal work ? If anyone can help I would appreciate it

I'm a 30 year old female from the UK

Hi Kate!

I am also moving to Barcelona this summer! I will be taking a TEFL certification course, and (hopefully) securing some type of temporary employment, either teaching English or--if i can gather enough private students as i've been doing here in the States--music. Of course, as an American citizen, I understand this may be difficult. But i am determined to make the best of the trip.

What are your plans so far? Maybe we can join forces. I'm reaching out to anyone with a positive attitude moving to Barcelona next summer--that we might be able to think our plans out together and support one another.

Peace,
-Sean
