Activity: Vocab of family
« on: September 18, 2004, 12:15:23 AM »
Ok, time for another activity! This is an activity I use with my elementary/basic level classes to review the use of the vocabulary of family. The first exercise is in riddle format and the student has to answer the riddle with what that person (the blank) would be in relationship to them.

You must preteach ALL the family related vocabulary (including terms related to inlaws, relatives, siblings, etc) before doing the activity. It´s a fun activity, it really makes them think and they get so excited when they can think through the logic to get the right answer. That excitement, for me, is rewarding.  :)

The second page, the word search, I give to the students to do at home to reinforce the learning.

Have fun with it!

I use that one too, Rebecca! It can be a real brain buster. Good idea to include it.
