new guy -- ? about IH Madrid
« on: July 24, 2002, 12:29:00 AM »
Hello all--I just signed up today.I\\\'m about to put down a deposit on a CELTA course at IH Madrid beginning September 2. I\\\'m really psyched, just a little worried about finding a job in the aftermath. It sounds tough, especially being illegal. Has anyone done the IH Madrid course? Are they as tough and intensive as they sound? Bueno, hasta la proxima chavales!

Bienvenido! IH in Madrid has an excellent reputation, but unfortunately, after you take their CELTA, they will not place you unless you have legal residency. Still, you\\\'ve got your foot in the proverbial door, which is better than many. The key to eventually becoming legal is patience, stability and networking yourself!

Good Luck!

Gracias por la bienvenida Tracy. I\\\'m about to officially pay for the course and I got my ticket today -- one-way to Madrid! What a nice ring that has to it! I\\\'ll be there August 21st and luego, empezará la aventura!

Hi Mattyz,

I can\\\'t answer your questions, but I just wanted to tell you that I\\\'m also going to be taking the CELTA course at IH Madrid this september!  I\\\'m getting really nervous about the class and of course about finding work after it\\\'s over.  Hopefully it will all work out for both of us.  See you in Madrid!

Megan--

That\\\'s awesome you\\\'re doing the IH course. It does sound a little scary but I think it\\\'ll end up being a lot of fun with people from all over the world being there and us all being in Madrid, perhaps the phattest city in Europe. The finding a job part is definitely daunting, but just based on my experiences in Spain, things have a way of working themselves out in aquel pais mágico. Drop me a line any time about whatever as the class aproaches. Have you been told about you\\\'re housing arrangements yet (I haven\\\'t, but I just signed up)? ciao!

You two will be just fine.  Remember to have faith and a positive attitude and all will work out in the end.  The CREATOR puts us in places where we need to be.

I will work in Spain also, one day, but I know that I will have to be patient.

Have a great day and  a wonderful class and stay in Spain.
