I was doing some research on Madrid (since that is my first choice) and I came across this really good link. The last article published on the link was January 16, 2012. So it is up to date. Some do date back from June 2011. The author says he is a former expat. Idk if he went through this program but nonetheless the information is really good; especially if you are doing research (or will be doing research once you get your placement) for a place/neighborhoods to live in one you land in Madrid. He describes each neighborhood thoroughly. Here is the link to the neighborhoods:

http://moving2madrid.com/His contact information is on there; so I guess if you wanted to contact him with personal questions you could. I haven't. So idk if his contact info is valid.
Also, one can find useful articles regardless if you plan on living in Madrid or not. I'm pretty sure Madrid will be on a lot of people's travel list.
