What's going on in Catalunya that makes you not want to go there anymore?
Around 100 auxiliares (give or take) are not being paid. I'm not just talking about being paid "a little late" as the manual warns, I mean the actual date for when the auxiliares should have gotten their first paycheck has been pushed back four times. Now they are saying that the auxiliares will not get paid until December 31st, and only 700e for the month of October. I know people here have been saying, "Oh, this happens every year!", but this e-mail sent to the auxiliares sums up why I'm hesitant to go to Cat:
"Este programa de auxiliares funciona desde hace más de 10 años y nunca habíamos tenido problemas tan graves como este curso. Es más, el año pasado fueron los auxiliares dependientes del Ministerio quienes cobraron más tarde, aunque no tanto".
(This "assistant program" has been running for more than 10 years, and we have never had such serious problems like we have this current year. Indeed, it was the assistants under the care of the Ministry who were paid late last year, though not by so much).
(note: you can either get paid by the Ministry or the Generalitat; those under the Ministry have been paid, and I believe are from the UK).
I know Madrid pays late sometimes, but I have more resources there than in Catalunya...sigh. Anyway, that's my rant for the day
