EU resident looking for job in Madrid
« on: March 05, 2003, 07:47:00 PM »
I am an American citizen who has recently received Irish citizenship and my Irish passport is being processed currently. What are my restrictions, if any, on working in Spain (madrid)? Am I legal to work without a work permit? Do I need the actual passport or is proof of citizenship enough? Also, how would you advise looking for a job while I am here in New York?

I appreciate your help=

Everywhere you go you\'ll be asked for photo ID so it\'s best to have your actual passport.  If you secure a job before going to Spain then you don\'t need to worry about the paperwork you had to go through before.  I just posted something on the recent changes in the law on this site, so have a look at that.  It should answer most of your questions.[addsig]
