Moving to Madrid--need a pep talk!
« on: February 15, 2003, 08:43:00 PM »
hi expats,  i\'m heading to madrid around the end of march and have been doing an extensive job search, i think it\'ll be easier to do from that end.  is it impossible to find work if you DON\'T want to teach english?  does anyone have experience with finding a company that is willing to sponsor them for a visa?  just wondering if i am facing insurmountable odds and am looking for inspiration....thanks![addsig]

Jweddel,

Shawn here.  Here is my take on the situation for my move back to Madrid.  I am just going to do it.  I am not going to worry about whether anyone will sponsor me because I am staying positive and not letting doubts enter my mind.  The thing is if you have the JUST DO IT approach, you have to follow that lead.  Doors will be closed, but others will open.

Don\'t let doubt take over your psyche.  If the urge is calling you back to Madrid, something is waiting there for you.  FOLLOW YOUR HEART.

If you want to just talk more, here is my Email address:

Good luck in your venture,

Shawn

Jweddel,

My approach is the same as Shawn\'s... remain positive and just do it.

I leave for Spain in 4 weeks and I will be in the same boat as you. I\'m prepared for a tough road ahead but I am not letting worries preoccupy my mind as I have no control over the situation until I am actually there. Just look forward to the move to Spain and the rest will fall into place when you are there. Never let doubts or fear hold you back on your dreams.

All the best for your move to Madrid.

Lily
