i'm getting nervous now.
i hope since your number was in the 400s and someone else's in the 1400s that it could only mean they're in the 2000s now and moving upward.

congrats to everyone that got notified this weekend. by chance were these the locations you requested?

Hey guys! I posted a seperate thread about this, but also wanted to check in with the fellow procrastinators to see if this has happened to you.

My application & documents have been submitted since the end of March, and I have been listed as Admitida. I've been (not so) patiently waiting for a placement, and this morning when I logged onto Profex it says "No tiene solicitudes" and when I hit acesso I get this message:
Aviso sistema

* Se está realizando una actualización del sistema informático profex que afectará a las futuras solicitudes que se inscriban en el sistema (aunque sean convocatorias que estén abiertas en este momento).
Se ha añadido un requisito técnico por el cual no se permiten adjuntar ficheros con un tamaño superior a 3 MB.
Esto afectará tanto a los Curriculum Vitae ya existentes en profex como a los archivos que se adjunten para una convocatoria específica. Se les solicita que revisen y actualicen su Curriculum Vitae para sustituir los archivos que tienen por otros que no excedan el límite de 3 MB.
A modo de sugerencia, es preferible que usen ficheros con formato jpg en lugar de tiff o bmp......

My photo is smaller than 3 MB, and I did not attach anything else (all other documents I sent hard copy). I did not miss my placement and am not on the excluidos list (I still show as admitida on profex, just my personal login shows no solicitud.)

I have emailed the Program but wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else?

I did get my first choice. I think you will know by next week because they are moving quickly it seems with this next batch. Just be sure that the email won't go ot your junk box. etc.

Unfortunately it's impossible to know precisely where they are in terms of inscrita numbers, which is annoying. We can only speculate based on what people say on the boards and facebook. I haven't seen anyone post recently, so I'm not sure. But I do know that since last week there have been 64 new adjudicadas. (Yes, I am that obsessive, especially since I graduated last week.) I think they're doing it in small batches now. I think they've awarded as many positions as they have and at this point it's a matter of waiting for people to drop out or not accept. It seems like instead of renouncing most people just let their status sit there for 5 days, which is annoying for those of us who are waiting. At least it's MOVING!!

I just wish they would reveal what inscrita number they're on.

There are currently 2622 North Americans adjudicada/aceptada, and 3074 total. (These numbers include renuncia as well.)

What are all of you doing to stay sane?

I'm going to wait. I still need to get a new background check and medical certificate and get the apostle for both. (Thankfully I live in a state capitol so it won't be too much of a hassle). And according to Murphy's Law if I try to make an appointment I won't get my placement until after. The process doesn't take nearly as long a time as they claim it does. Last year when I got my student visa I had my passport back in <4 weeks. I didn't have to do it in person, though.

It seems like the numbers are jumping back and forth a little. #4088 just got placed and #4278 got placed a few days ago. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Can anyone give me some advice, I am number #4560 and I keep seeing people with higher inscrita numbers getting placements before me. Does anyone know who I could contact about this? It is really quite frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry, they accept pretty much everyone who is admitada if you wait long enough. In fact, at the last minute (September, October) they will even accept people who didn't go through the formal application process because they are desperate to fill positions that people dropped out of. Anyone who can get a student visa be in spain pronto is golden at that point!
However, I know it's nice to be able to plan a little more than that. If you feel you were skipped over, I would email the same person who emailed you about if you were still interested.
Otherwise, I would email the embassy in Washington DC since they are in charge of doing the placements (not your consulate). In my past experience, they were fairly quick in responding.

I just got Adjudicada! They placed me in Extremadura, my first choice was Madrid. I don't know anything about Extremadura but I am excited. It's good to finally know something. Now I can look forward to the whole visa process!
