So, I JUST sent my documents on Friday. I submitted the online portion in January, but lagged with the hard copies.

Anyone else in the same boat, who waited until the last moment? Also I'm curious to those who have already been accepted - when did you submit your materials?

I submitted mine way early in November and got 312, but I've been reading on the boards about people last year into the 3000's getting placements well into the summer. Good luck!

It's your "numero de solicitud": the last four numbers of the ~15 character code.

I applied fairly late too, just sent my paperwork in at the end of March. We need to keep hoping though! I hear that even though your profex number might be high, it's still fairly likely that you'll receive a placement : D

Ever since the application process closed, I can't figure out a quick way to get back onto the profex site, since they close the direct link they had on this page http://www.educacion.es/exterior/usa/en/programs/us_assistants/default.shtml
Spanish internet lingo is not my forte so i feel like i'm going in circles when i manage to log on through a different end. anyone have any tips?

You'll have to let me know when you hear from them. i'm getting so antsy. my profex number is 2325 because i submitted my online app in january, but i took wayy too long to submit my hard copy documents and didnt mail them in until the last week of march.

My number is above 4000 as well but there's always hope! Last year my friend was in the mid-3000s and ended up getting a placement in August, and this was when they were offering 1500 placements (this year it says over 2000). From what I hear, your online app number is the most important thing (no matter if you waited ages to send your paperwork), HOWEVER, apparently there are plenty of people who never complete their paperwork, or applied early on in the year and change their mind by the time they're selected, so here's hoping. Even though my inscrita number is around the 800s I am barely getting my fingerprints taken tmrw and sending in my paper application-FEDEX overnight of course!!! I changed my mind about applying last Friday and tried getting all the paperwork together over the weekend. I hope it arrives on time! Good luck fellow procrastinators

I hope you get in, though! I myself was unsure about applying as well. The whole money issue was a big part. I figure if i get accepted i'll decide then.

I read recently that inscrita #3220 was placed on Wednesday 4/6/11....

I submitted my online part in late March, and they received my info on the 13th of April. My inscrita number is just above 4500. I am not expecting much, but I do hope I get in. I found out about it in the beginning of March but thanks to the person writing my recommendation later taking THREE WEEKS TO DO IT I kinda of didn't have a choice in turning it in late. Ah well, hope I make it anyway.

Ahh I'm in the exact same boat! I don't see my name on the "Admitidos" list on the website, which makes me worry that they didn't get my application (or didn't get my rec, which was sent separately). I guess I'll have to just sit tight and keep my fingers crossed!

On the left hand bar, at the bottom you can click "Auxiliares de conversación" then "Listados" and you can see the admitidos, adjudicados, etc.

@Arreola: I just e-mailed profex support asking if this is a mistake. I'm guessing those that don't accept in five days are blocked from actually doing so, but they still sit there on the 'adjudicada' list.

@Tombomb34: It seems like they haven't made any new placements in over a week or so, but once people start rejecting I think they'll start up again. From what I've read we should be getting an e-mail soon with an update on placements, possibly telling us we're on the waitlist. What's your inscrita #?

I feel you, mine is 3397. The number is haunting me. I wish they would give a definitive "no" rather than making us wait like this. Es una tortura. I e-mailed two different people about wait list status and they both said "Tenga paciencia".

Thankfully the number of admitidos is only 3485 (excluding non-North Americans), so your number isn't as bad as you think.

So i've been keeping tabs on the numbers.

on 4/22 the number of admitidas was 3862.
on 4/25 it went up to 3894

on 4/22 the number of adjudicadas y reservas was 2558.
on 4/25 it went up to 2574

on 4/22 the number of aceptados y renuncias was 2440.
on 4/25 it went up to 2471

excluidos remained the same at 17

....you know, just numbers to obsess over.

I've been keeping tabs on the numbers, too. Unfortunately the number of North American ajudicadas has only increased by 1, so the big jumps are misleading. Most of the new people are northern Europeans. Hrmph.

They're trickling. The numbers were changing rapidly for about 3 weeks and now they're inching up. I predict in early May they'll start moving again. And by predict I mean hope and pray.

Hey guys,

So I need some advice relating back to the procrastination thing... Well, I keep checking the profex website and am stilll not admitida... So I called today (I waited two weeks because I thought maybe they were still processing applications), and they told me I had sent the wrong pdf print out of my application. I was never notified or e mailed (I even checked my junk mail folder...nothing!), and though I sent in my application later, it was still in before the deadline. Also, my roommate applied as well and her consulate let her know that there was something wrong with her application so she could fix it. The person I spoke with gave me an e mail to try and ask if they could still take my application provided that I send in the correct pdf, but I don't hold much hope for that...

Does anyone have any other ideas/suggestions on how I can get this through/get my application to be admitida? I reallllly want to do this program, or at least have the chance to do it...

I think the only thing you can do is e-mail them and hope for the best. Explain that you weren't notified that you had sent in the wrong document. They'll probably be understanding. What consulate are you going through?

My inscrita # is 484 and I was placed in Madrid today. I really think that as long as you are Admitida you will get a placement. I cannot wait to hear where you guys are! My situation was a little different because I registered early, in November, but then thought I was going to do Teach for America so I didn't turn in my information until early April.

Regardless, they are making placements again so just wait for that email
