If you know anyone in the area, anyone can take your document to the DC office and get the apostille for you. They have walk-in hours til 11am.

No, when you get your FBI background report, it has a letter in there with directions on how to request the apostille.  Your background check needs to have the FBI seal and a signature of a division official (you ask for this when you send off for the background check).  The address to send for the apostille is:

U.S. Department of State
518 23rd NW SA-1
Washington, DC 20037

There is a email included if you have questions aoprgsmauth@state.gov

I also included a cover sheet basically asking for an apsotille. I included all my contact info.  I received an email yesterday saying they have my request.

So, did you request the authentication in your cover letter? There is no place to put it on the application. Did you just add a note to do it? Then, we get it back and send it on to the Dept of State for the apostille?

Yes, I just wrote on the top of the application in big letters that I needed the FBI official's signature and the seal (that's what they said to do in the old forum that was deleted), and I got it back in about 4 weeks. Some people are saying you can go to the state capital and have them apostille it, but I don't live in a state capital so I just sent to State dept....

I got my school placement e-mail this morning!  ah ah ah! okay...so lets see...I am in Badajoz!

Two  I.E.S  : one in   OLIVENZA and the other in VALVERDE DE LEGANÉS. They are both about a   half hour from Badajoz city center. I wouldn't mind the commute ;)

Hey, How did you figure out whereabouts your schools are in relation to Badajoz? I got placed in C.E.I.P. CRUZ VALERO Ctra. de Zafra, s/n  06360  FUENTE DEL MAESTRE and   I.E.S. FUENTE RONIEL C/ Europa, s/n  06360  FUENTE DEL MAESTRE. But I really can't figure out what these addresses mean haha. Some help would be great!  :)

Try putting the addresses into the spanish version of google maps: http://maps.google.es/ ...if that doesnt work, just google search the names of your schools in spanish google. I was able to find the school website for both of my placements, and you should be able to figure out your school's whereabouts through the site :)

CIEP Cruz Valero is your school. the next like in the address, the last part of that line is the town (Fuente del Maestre)
Well, the towns would be Fuente del Maestre. I just googled my town...which I ended up just putting in the whole address they gave me in googlemaps and it showed me where it was.

Crta=carretera=highway

Does that help? I was confused at first, too!

Hola:

Saludos

Laura

If anyone here has been placed in Merida and is looking for a place to live I have a great opportunity. My sister in law (she's spanish) is looking for someone to take care of her kids (2 kids ages 3 and 5) in the morning before school and in the afternoon for a few hours. In exchange you get free room and board (and possible extra cash). Let me know if you're interested...again this is for Merida. Cheers.

Hi! My name is Edward Quinn and I will be an Auxiliar in Extremadura.  My girlfriend would be EXTREMELY interested in this offer.  She would be a great fit since she was a nanny before, speaks fluent Spanish (she's from Mexico), and would have no other commitments.  Also, she is very good at English so maybe she could teach the kids a thing or two.  I don't know if your sister in law would prefer that I speak with her for more information (about when the job would start, etc.) or just keep talking with you, but please contact me :)  This seems way too good to be true!!!

Hey Edward,
Your interested then for your girlfriend?  To be honest my sister-in-law would prefer a native English speaker but if your girlfriend is bilingual than perhaps my sister-in-law would be interested. Will your girlfriend be working as part of the auxiliares program as well? Why don't you give me your girlfriend's email and I'll let my sister-in-law know that she's is interested and the two of them can communicate directly.
Cheers
