About 4 months, rent was around 200 euro a month if I remember correctly. It was seriously such a cute little place in a great neighborhood-4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen,  AND we had a deck (!). So yea, we were def. lucky.

I'll start researching...as soon as I pick up my jaw off of the floor.

Was that 200euros/month per person? 200 total divided by 4 people/month seems too good to be true...

Actually for most of the time I was there, there was only 3 of us, and still only 200 euro a month ( not including gastos, which were still really cheap). Trust me, I realize how great of a deal it was.  If I get placed in a Granada for this program, you can bet your bones I will be returning to that piso. It was a real gem.

Hola a todos!!  ;D

I have recently been placed in Andalucía along with 3 other friends. We are hoping to be placed in the same city/town so that we may share living exspenses. I understand that there are advantages/disadvantages to living with Americans vs. Spaniards.

How do you already know that you are have been placed in Andalucia?  I have accepted a placement on profex but I have not received any notification of where I will be placed.  My first choice is Andalucia so I am hoping to be placed there as well.  Did you receive your letter of nombramiento?

Hola ^-^
I was assigned to the Badajoz area (VALVERDE DE LEGANÉS and ALMENDRAL). I am looking for a room-mate (or multiple roomies). I haven't decided if I want to commute from Badajoz to these two small pueblo-like towns. If there is anyone else that has been placed in this area, let me know, maybe we can chat about being roomies. One problem about commuting from Badajoz is the bus schedule.. Anyways, reply back if you are interested

I was hoping to get a 1 bedroom but after looking at the prices of any that are half-decent and also hearing news about people getting paid months late...  I'm thinking I want some North American roomies. :)

For those who are looking to move to Madrid, you can find studios for 500€ a month. You have to hit the pavement. I am living in a studio that's 509€ a month in the center of Madrid, in Quevedo, and I love my hood. Lots of great shops, bars and places to chill.

I am in Valverde de Leganes and Olivenza! I was thinking the same thing---not sure if I want to live in the small pueblo or in Badajoz city. Olivenza seems a bit larger than Valverde de Leganes... guess I won't know until I get there!

Shawn - you live alone in the studio?  Where did you find it? Totally curious - I'd prefer to live alone since I have a lot of people wanting to stay with me while in Madrid and I don't want to piss off my roommates, lol.

Hey guys, I'm going to Spain this fall to teach in a small town called Valmojado. But I'm going to be living in Madrid. I was wondering if there was any other auxiliar that would want to room together. I'm definitely going there for an authentic experience but I thought it would be cool to know at least one person/friend right off the bat. Message me back if you're interested at all in rooming with another auxiliar.
