DARA is an international non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of humanitarian action and development through evaluation and technical assistance. DARA has carried out evaluations in more than 40 countries across five continents for a variety of organisations, including United Nations and European Union agencies. The organisation also produces two independent initiatives - the Humanitarian Response Index, which is the world’s first independent instrument to measure the individual performance of humanitarian donors, and the Disaster Risk Reduction Initiative, which seeks to forge partnerships for risk mitigation and adaptation. DARA is currently seeking an intern interested in gaining practical experience in an organization that is quickly becoming the reference for good practice in the humanitarian/development fields. He or she will have the opportunity to learn about all of DARA’s areas of activity – Evaluation, the Humanitarian Response Index, the Disaster Risk Reduction Initiative and Communications and Outreach – and support the elaboration of high quality documents in English.
Requirements• Native English speaker
• Proven editorial experience with strong writing skills
• Team player
• Comfortable working in an international environment
• Interested in learning about humanitarian/development issues
Hours are flexible. A monthly transportation and food stipend will be provided.
