Moving to Barcelona in September - HELP!
« on: July 01, 2009, 10:34:31 PM »
Hi all!

I'm a 22 year old graduate, taking a 40 hour weekend TEFL course in Glasgow and moving to Barcelona to find a teaching job in September.  Looking for some advice please - has anyone done this before?

Wondering if anyone can comment on if the 40 hour course will be enough to find me a job (compared to doing a 4 week course in Barcelona), and how easy it is to find work?

Thanks for any help!!!

Ashley

short of a university degree you won't get anything much longer. 40 hours is 2 weeks correct? If your brand new to teaching I'd suggest a 4 week course. Regardless of your training it takes about 5 years to become a really top notch teacher, I'm on my third and I still feel like I'm learning.

as mentioned in a previous post make sure you have cash on hand to tide you over till you start getting paid and the good news is rents are coming down everywhere so unless your desperate negotiate hard!
