Seeing a doctor in Spain without health insurance
« on: October 05, 2008, 02:07:43 PM »
Amazingly, google has drawn a blank on this.

I have just arrived in Spain, I don´t have my medical details sorted out yet, and I now would like to see a doctor. Does anybody have the faintest idea what it costs to be seen by a private doctor here? I am an EU citizen. I have not brought my E111 card. Stupid, yes I know. If you were going to post pointing out how silly I am, please don´t bother. If you don´t know what a smple doctor´s consultation costs, also please don´t reply (these are requests, not orders). I do not need an English-speaking doctor, my spanish is sufficient to deal with that.

Within a few weeks, my health insurance will be sorted out. But I´d like to know what it costs to see a doctor while the paperwork is still pending. It´s not an emergency, more a discomfort issue.

In the Spring of 2007 I paid 100 euros to see a private doc in Madrid and I didn't have insurance.
