Rosetta Stone language learning
« on: July 15, 2008, 04:15:33 PM »
Hi

I'm going to be moving to Spain when I retire (a couple more years to go yet!!) and I'm hoping to get a strong grasp of the language before I move out there.

A friend of mine has recommended Rosetta Stone's online language course, but I'm a bit wary about using an online service - considering the lack of human contact etc.

Has anyone used Rosetta Stone? Did you find that it was an effective service?

Thanks for any help provided.

Hello freddyb45!

Good luck with your retirement plans!

Regarding Rosetta Stone, I have never used the system but my brother-in-law used it to learn English. He often has to give and attend conferences in English. He has a high conversational level of English and can understand practically everything except for when my sister and I talk to each other.

Must be that secret language of sisters!  :)
