For sure. This forum is the premiere resource and I want encourage people to mention what are their biggest concerns again about moving to Spain, to regenerate the conversation and make sure the info is the most current. I am thinking to create a print guide as well and just want to double check what questions people would like to see answered.

Moving to Spain consists of two parts: The first month and everything thereafter.

So..... Hostals and other cheap accomodation.
Where to find the permanent accomodation, Loquo, Idealista, Sublet.com etc
How to get about. Metro maps, Street map. Cheapest way to travel.
Good places to eat - Cheap places to eat - including info for Vegetarians. Spain is not vegetarian friendly.
Phones, bank accounts, other official paperwork.

Just off the top of my head.

Hiya Phil,

Interesting idea you have here.

Who's your market for this guiri guide? As you probaly know there are huge differences in the expat community here. Think, those who are here for their gap-year, those who have been transferred by their companies, those who married a Spaniard/European and those who got fed up with the life in their home country and needed a change of scenery.

I would think that these differences would have different interests/needs in an expat guide.

I have two questions:

What is the "gap year"?

and if I have my EU passport (dual citizenship with Spain and US) how should I file for taxes?

Gracias!
