Can You Recommend A Good Spanish Language Schoo
« on: April 11, 2007, 12:29:46 PM »
Hello, i'm currently living in barcelona and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good immersive spanish language school here.  Speakeasybcn seems to be the least expensive and looks pretty nice.  Any other ideas?  Thanks for any info.

Hiya Chris!

Just how easy is it to learn Castellano in Barcelona? I mean, isn't the majority language spoken there Catalán? If you are already living in Barcelona, why do you want to go to an immersion school? Why dontcha move to a city where you can actually live eat and breathe Castellano?

I'm not criticizing Barcelona. It's an awesome city! If you're goal is to learn castellano, why Barcelona?

your answer isn't very helpful, Yes people here speak catalan but they also speak castellano.  I don't want to move, I just want some info on spanish courses here in barcelona without getting into a whole discussion on why barcelona is or isn't a good place to learn spanish.

Here is what I came up with after doing a search on the Net:

Babylon Idomas

Don Quijote

Cactus Language

Quality Courses

These are just a few to get you started.

Good luck in the search.

Chris I really didn't mean to offend you, I was just curious is all. No need to be so defensive about it. Sorry for having tried to start a conversation with you. Maybe if you gave a more diplomatic response you might pique other people's interest to study in Barcelona. Interesting how you come to a forum looking for ideas and info but aren't willing to share.

Good luck with your search.

Hi Chris,

Do you know if there are speakeasy programs in other cities around Spain? I am also looking to take Spanish classes right now and haven't been able to find any affordable options yet. I am in Madrid right now, but want to spend July taking classes somewhere on the coast, so Barcelona is an option....Let us know how it goes at Speakeasy....perhaps I'll see you there   : )

I'm moving to Sevilla in a month and I'm also looking to enroll in a language intensive.  If anybody has any advice on which schools are good and which ones to avoid I'd really appreciate it!
