Banking and Credit in Spain
« on: November 18, 2002, 06:08:00 PM »
I ma moving over to BCN next month and I still have a few concerns about banking over there.  I believe that it would be a lot more convenient to do banking in Barcelona than long distance.  How easy is it to open an account at a Spanish bank?

Also, I read a posting by Jer about credit cards in Spain.  I really can\'t get a good deal on a card here in the US and would rather get one over there in case of an emergency.  Is it easy to obtain one over there through a bank? i´m scottish-an eu citizen-and i´ve found that opening a bank account to be tedious in the extreme.this is even with the help of my spanish girlfriend who used to work in a bank.i´d imagine it´s more difficult for non-eu peoples.it is all possible,it´s just that there is a lot of pissing about filing in forms and travelling to and from places. But it´ll all be worth it as Spain is gallous!(scots/glasweign word-look it up) [IMG SRC=\"modules/phpBB_14/images/smiles/icon_disbelief.gif\"] [addsig]

Thanks for the advice Thepriest!  Yeah, I have also heard that Spain is off-the-chain!(African American/Ebonics.  Look it up.) [IMG SRC=\"modules/phpBB_14/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif\"] [addsig]
