Hi all,
I have a question that I am not sure anyone will be able to answer for sure but here goes: I have been accepted to the North American English Teaching program in Spain for the upcoming year. and for this I need to apply for a student visa. According to the Spanish consulate, I will be getting the necessary info regarding my visa application procedure shortly. However, on top of this, I have been awarded a grant to study Catalan in Barcelona for a month this summer. Here's where my possible anxiety arises. I want to study in Barcelona during the month of September, then go to Madrid for the English program's orientation which starts at the beginning of October, and then from there be able to go to Castilla-La Mancha, the region to which I have been assigned. The only problem is that I don't want to apply for my student visa too soon this summer thus jeopardizing my eligibilty to extend it once I get to C-LM. I've talked to the director of the program and to the Spanish Consulate here in Chicago where I live and they said that I should apply for my student visa as soon as I have the necessary info and documents, which leads me to believe that I won't have any problems. However, I just wanted to get some feedback from all of you with regard to my situation. I hope to hear from and meet some of you in the future
