Decisions, Decisions...
« on: January 23, 2006, 06:40:41 PM »
Well, my uncle called me this weekend. A friend of his in a similar field is looking for someone to help him as a sales rep/buyer of stone and marble. This guy lives in Valencia and needs someone that can work there 3 to 4 months out of the year...It would be a lot different than teaching English but it would get me to Spain for a big chunk of time each year!

Last thursday I also filled out my foreign service exam application and I'm going to take that in April.

A friend let me know that it was certain that his director of studies needs a teacher in Argentina for business English...

I'll probably take the job with my uncles friend if my interview goes well next week in Dallas (thats where the company is based out of.)

I let a friend know about all of my options and told her that I would probably take the job with the larger company...she was shocked. She explained that she thought I had started this teacher career path to give up materialism for a post-modern lifestyle. I explained that I wanted to teach because it would get me to Spain. I like money, clothes, and gadgets...but I like Spain even more. I did the certificate because I will always have something to fall back on.

Peace

Oh Man!

Spain or Argentina? HARD

Teaching or Sales? (Well that one is easy, but when you factor in location, you are right back where you started)

That decision would have me sleepless for nights! Good Luck with it!

Btw, which accent do you prefer, the sing-song Italian sounding accent of Argentina, or the lovely Andaluz (you were in Sevilla, right?) ?
Oh also, what would you prefer: Steak and \"Malbec\" or Paella and \"Rioja\" (or  what is it they drink in Valencia? Agua de Valencia, I forget! some sore of chanpangne concoction)

Not only location and profession but there is so much more to consider as well:  Accents / Food and probably a lot more!

Follow your heart! (if that helps)
