Being my Own Boss in Spain
« on: May 06, 2005, 11:39:39 PM »
Hey all, it's been a while!

After some careful reconsideration of my future goals, I have decided not to enroll full time in a Spanish University, but to enroll in an American university and spend as much time as possible on a study abroad program in Spain. I have also decided that I don't think I want to teach English in a university once I graduate, but instead start my own business so that I can do translations and give private English lessons. However, I have a few questions:

What are the differences between owning an American business and a Spanish business? Is there anything really important that I should know?

Do you think I will be able to earn enough money to life comfortably doing this for a living?

Should I invest in certification to do sworn traslations, and certification to teach English?

Thanks in advance for the advice!  :)

Hi Veovis!

Nice to see you posting here again. I am going to take your post and add it to one already posted in another forum where chupichulo was asking about setting up his own academy. You can see this thread HERE.

I will close this thread to future postings... hopefully we will get some people offering their insight and experience on the other thread found .

Good luck!
