i want to get a job!
« on: March 18, 2005, 10:01:11 PM »
Peace all

Where do i start now,
i saved some money working in NYC for years to come to spain, barcelona, marry a hot babe and have kids.

Ok, i got the hot babe quick, my wife, and my son a few months ago, but after a year while she was pregnant and i was going to spanish courses as well as back and forth between france i am finding my long dream to become a nightmare (maybe).

Now i have to get to work! since money will last about 5 more months for food and rent, in-fact less! remember now i was a pro tools audio editor for post houses and record label studios (majors and indies), got paid the dream salary and decided to go the most beautiful place in the world, BARCELONA!

So where should i start?
I swallowed my pride when i left so even a nice irish bar or a supermarket will do?
Teaching english seems tense with all the competition and salaries mcDanalds pays, Any ideas?

Jesus.

You might want to try to contact all of the audio visual companies out in Barcelona.  Between the schools and private audiovisual companies you might be able to find something.

Aside from this you could try contacting everyone that you worked with in the past to see if there is anything you can do for them from Barcelona.
Not just the specific work you have done for them in the past but any errands or whatever.  The key is to figure what you can do easily from here in Spain (Barclona) that they can not do simply because they are not here.
For example.  I live above one of the best button / yarn stores in Madrid.
It would be super easy to go downstairs and buy these buttons / yarn.
Now all I have to do is put up a website listing the stores entire stock with my marked up prices and fill the orders.

You will need to find your own button / yarn store equivalent and take it from there.
